Whether you're a conveying engineer, a conveyor specialist, or a general contractor looking for a high-quality chain to work with, Renold has the solution. Our extensive portfolio of ANSI standard roller chains and attachments are available in Carbon Steel, Nickel Plating, and Stainless Steel and can be tailor-made to your exact requirements.
For conveyance applications, the most common type of chain is a roller chain with an attachment. This is designed to give a smooth transfer of goods, with low noise characte ristics, and can be used at relatively medium conveying speeds.
There are many types of attachment chains on the market; however, the two most commonly used are single-pitch and double-pitch. Single pitch is a lower pitch chain designed to convey small and light loads. The double pitch is a higher-pitch chain that can handle heavier and bulkier goods.
The most important part of the chain is the pin; it transmits the load to the bush and plate during sprocket engagement and forms a load-bearing part together with the bush when the chain articulates. The pin must be able to withstand shearing and bending forces as well as provide sufficient wear resistance.
In addition to the pin, rollers are another vital part of the chain; they mate with the sprocket tooth and move on the tooth face whilst receiving a compressive load. The roller must be able to withstand the repeated impact load and have strength against shock, fatigue, and compression.
Various designs of roller chains with attachments are available, including hollow pin chains, which allow for the attachment of cross rods and other components to the chain. This allows for a wide range of attachments that can be adapted to your application and increase productivity.
The stainless steel roller chain with CDE attachment is a variant of the standard sprocket roller chain. It is manufactured from either a 316L or a 316Ti, with bent plates at the inner link and pressed in attachment pins at the outer link.
It is an excellent choice for all industrial applications requiring a durable, robust, and reliable chain. The bent plate design provides good dimensional accuracy and eliminates the possibility of distortion and warping of the chain.
Our Roller Chains With CDE attachments are manufactured from either a 316L or a 316Ti, with bent plates at both the inner and outer links. These are ideally suited to the conveying of food products and pharmaceuticals.
A number of different fittings are available to be attached to the roller chain, including trays and other fittings that can hold goods as they move on the chain. These are referred to as GK-1 attachments, with the G design indicating that they have a hole in the center of each link plate for the attachment of trays and other fittings.
The GK-1 attachments are designed to attach a variety of components to the roller chain, including trays and cross rods. These are a great choice for all types of conveying applications and offer the potential to improve efficiencies and safety.
