These are a type of chain that has been specially designed to work with attachment links for use on crossbars, buckets, and belting. These are great options for equipment that needs to run with more power and speed. They are also very strong and durable. They are commonly used in the food industry for packaging applications, bottle-filling machines, and automotive assembly lines.
Using the most advanced heat treatment processes, these chains are designed to handle a variety of agricultural applications and are engineered to withstand the arduous conditions that arise within the agriculture industry. They are available as standard plain chains or with a wide range of attachments, coatings, materials, slats, and pushers.
Challenge's conveyor chain range consists of a variety of chains that are manufactured to the ISO and British Standards. The roller chains are designed for use with sprockets and are available in both short pitch (EPC style) and long pitch (D-style). They have ball-swaged holes to ensure that the chain pitches are accurate and evenly loaded around the sprockets. They also have shot-peened link plates that develop compressive stresses which actively resist fatigue failure from initializing and propagating through the links.
With a large number of different industries across the world relying on our precision roller transmission chains, it is important that they perform to the highest possible standard and have the right level of protection against failure. This is why Challenge incorporates shot peened link plates with ball-swaged holes and deep wasted link plates which upgrade the breaking load and reduce stress on the links. This allows for a more efficient transmission system and helps to prevent fatigue failure, especially when shock loading is present in the application.
