Electric trailer brakes can cause wear and slow the trailer by activating the electromagnetic brake drum. When the surge brake operates independently, the electric trailer brake must be connected to the power supply of the towing vehicle and adjusted by the brake control unit or electric brake controller.
How to Select Electric Brakes and Brake Parts
Position the brake so that the magnet is at the bottom to determine the right or left brake assembly. On electric brakes, the actuating arm will always bend from the pivot pin towards the magnet, with the left-hand brake bending to the left and the right-hand brake bending to the right. (Please refer to the chart.)
When ordering brake assemblies or brake replacement parts, be sure to use the part number and reference number. Both are necessary to ensure the timely and accurate completion of your order.
Sometimes, the simplest and most economical way to repair a brake is to replace the entire assembly. By removing the wires and some nuts and bolts, you have all the new parts, saving time, trouble, and cost.
Whether you choose to replace the entire brake assembly, only replace individual parts that require repair, or require new brakes to manufacture a trailer, we can provide you with the correct work! We only need one phone call.

A. Measure the diameter of the installed brake shoes.
B. Measure the width of the lining drive arm.
Determine the manufacturer of the brake.
A. Select the brake you have by reviewing the critical identification points shown in the drawing.
B. Check the electronic brake chart for your brake and required parts. You can refer to the exploded view and magnet photos of each brake for further identification.
Select the parts you need. Although many features are displayed, we only carry numbered replacement parts. 'Parts only' means there is no complete brake assembly.
